The Challenge
Microsoft needed a ready-to-use sample app that shows Power Apps makers how to build a practical business process end to end: submitting expenses, tracking them, and routing them for approval.
What We Built
Canviz built the Expense Report sample template in Power Apps for Microsoft. The template shows makers how to build an Expense Report app in Power Apps with a user-friendly experience for tracking expense reports from submission to approval. Users can tally line items as individual expenses accrue, then submit the report for approval when it's ready.
The Outcome
Microsoft published the template on its website in 2018 as a Power Apps sample, giving makers a working expense app they could install, explore and adapt instead of starting from a blank canvas. It showed in one place how to model line items, total a report as expenses accrue, and move it through a submit-and-approve workflow. Microsoft has since retired the template from its site, but Canviz still has a copy and can share it on request.
